Anyone who rides or repairs a Yamaha YZF R1, FZ1 or FZ8 is probably familiar with the flywheel problems common to these models. Most of these bikes will have at least one flywheel failure in their lifetime so far. Low quality epoxy was used on OEM flywheels to secure the magnets to the rotor body. Over time and many heat cycles, the epoxy fails allowing the magnets to come loose and contact the stator, potentially causing catastrophic damage.

A Cylinder Works replacement cylinder is a completely new, not remanufactured, cast aluminium nickel silicon carbide (NSC) electroplated stock bore cylinder that appears just like an OE cylinder.

NSC is a composite of nickel and silicon carbide, providing an excellent wear-resistant surface with oil retention capabilities.

Cylinders are then diamond honed to the exact bore dimension and proper surface finish to ensure the proper ring seal and oil retention.

What is a sintered brake pad?

GOLDfren only manufacturers sintered brake pads that contain metal-ceramic and ceramic-carbon friction materials, these materials allow for less brake dust and a quieter braking experience. Sintered brake pads are made by fusing together metallic particles under high temperature and pressure which enhances friction properties and pad life, resulting in longer life and stronger braking. Sintered brake pads experience no brake fade when operating at high temperatures and in wet conditions. They also last up to 5 times longer than organic pads and provide additional braking strength. All materials used are environmentally friendly and do not contain any lead, asbestos, fibreglass or formaldehyde.
